Sunset Down Under (16" x 20" x 0.75")

After focusing on fine details in the Red Peppers Reflected and Capitol Hill Row Houses paintings, I was attracted to the idea of a simpler painting with not too many colors, lines or shapes. I kept the painting mostly monochromatic for a simpler look with positive vibes. The red hue represents the heat of the Australian sun and the warmth of the Australian people.

I studied abroad in Sydney in the first half of 2017 and took the photo that inspired this painting during a weekend trip to Melbourne.
